The MPs Supporting EDM 2031

This is the link for all the MPs supporting this alleged intellectual property theft. Most of them were informed that the recommendations were essentially lifted from a research paper published on the JRSM website. In the ordinary world, lifting ideas would be plagiarism and therefore misconduct. In Parliament though, EDMs are governed by privilege. MPs are not held accountable for them. This means, ideas can be lifted from scientific papers and effectively printed on an EDM without acknowledgement of the source.

Further documents will be placed up concerning the actions taken by these MPs.

This website is intended to be a correction under the Data Protection Act. What cannot be rectified by Parliament, will be rectified online. One must forgive Parliament, it still operates as if it is in the 18th Century.

This website relates to the background of EDM2031 tabled by Sir Peter Bottomley. I will show his associations with Private Eye and the sanctioned barrister Andrew Bousfield. My case is that this team lifted ideas from the paper Whistleblowing and Patient Safety without citation. By virtue of a publication on Parliament's website, Bottomley credited the ideas to Private Eye.

It will also show the lengths Mr Bottomley goes to in support of these parties. I am a whistleblower, Sir Peter Bottomley's EDM is all about supporting whistleblowers. We question how far his support goes.

The exchange of correspondence between myself and Bottomley raises questions regarding his knowledge of data protection and intellectual property ownership. It also demonstrates his short fuse. I believe those paying his salary deserve a better standard of service. Mr Bottomley was asked to cite the paper. He refused and insisted on copying emails to his associates at Private Eye.

Over the years, the UK has seen MPs steal from the public purse by way of parliamentary expenses. In this website, we show how ideas are used without acknowledgement, placed in a privileged parliamentary environment so that the member of the public has no rights to challenge it.

In this particular case, the commercial interests in this EDM sits at Private Eye's door. By using this method, other's ideas then become theirs. The MPs who have supported this EDM have ignored these issues. Most have not read the documents in front of them. I raise the question - if intellectual property is abused, a similar attitude apply to other aspects of public money. There is a total disregard and indifference for the property of others.

It also shows that these MPs would rather base public policy on a satirical magazine rather than a scientific paper published in the JRSM. Again, the public deserves better.
